The Benefits of the Month of Ramadan: An Opportunity Not to Be Missed

The blessed month of Ramadan is much more than simply fasting from dawn to sunset. It is an important spiritual time—a month of transformation, purification, and sincere return to Allah.

  A Month of Mercy and Forgiveness
Ramadan is a unique opportunity to erase our past sins. The gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the rewards for good deeds are multiplied. It is the perfect time to sincerely repent and renew our intentions.

  A Month of the Qur’an
It was during this month that the Qur’an was revealed. Let us take this opportunity to strengthen our connection with the Word of Allah through daily recitation, reflection, and implementation. Even a few verses read with contemplation can transform a heart.

  Increase in Supplications (Duʿa)
Ramadan is a time when supplications are especially answered. Let us make it a habit to call upon Allah for ourselves, our loved ones, and the community. Let us ask Him for guidance, sincerity, patience, and a good ending.

  Improve Our Character
Fasting is not only about abstaining from food and drink. It is also a fast of speech and actions: avoiding arguments, gossip, and anger. The Prophet ﷺ taught us that if someone provokes us, we should respond, “I am fasting.”
Ramadan is therefore a training ground for patience, kindness, and self-control.

Multiply Good Deeds
Charity, helping those in need, smiling, supporting parents, night prayer… Every small act counts and can weigh heavily on the scale. Let us never underestimate any good deed.

Let Us Not Miss This Opportunity
Ramadan returns every year, but nothing guarantees that we will witness another one. Let us live it as if it were our last—with sincerity, commitment, and hope.
